My name is Abdi Dubed. I was born in Somalia and I came to the US when I was 12 years old. I ran track and XC for the University of Arkansas, which is what took me from Washington DC to Bentonville, AR eventually to begin a life-changing career with the largest retailer in the world, Walmart.
I have had the privilege to work with best-in-class teams throughout my career with Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Materne North America (Go-Go SqueeZ). After graduating from the University of Arkansas I went to work for Walmart and developed a love for retail. As I navigated my career path, I went through several roles in merchandising before eventually becoming a merchant. After over 10 years, I left Walmart to work for a supplier and learn the sales side of the business.
During my career with Materne North America, I returned to the U of A to receive my Master’s degree in Business Administration. While in this program, I took an entrepreneurial course and developed a desire to start my own business in which I could grow brands with exceptional products and the potential to thrive in the retail market. I am passionate about helping brands achieve results beyond their wildest dreams that changes the trajectory of their business. I am in the right place, at the right time, with the right knowledge, a lot of passion, and I am loving it.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking with my wife, and coaching kids’ sports leagues. When I am not doing this, you will find me either reading a book or running out on the roads.
